Although a cottage property may have a “no pets” policy it doesn’t mean that none of the past Tenants never had guests who had uninvited pets on the premises or in the cottage! Thus, the Owner does not take responsibility for allergies or other conditions arising at the cottage, in spite of EWAYA being noted as being “No Pets Allowed”.

Menominee = Wild Rice in Ojibwa. Menominee Lake was explored by the explorer Thompson! Menominee empties into the Lake of Bays via a non navigable stream. Menominee Lake has an active Cottage Association which is keen on preventing any environmental damage and has had restrictions placed on future development. The Main Goal is to preserve the pristine environment of Menominee Lake.
 
 
TIME SAVING and CONVENIENT LOCATION:
A realistic 2.5 hours from Avenue Road and St. Clair in mid town Toronto. Conveniently located near the junction of the Brunel Rd./Muskoka District Rd. # 2 and South Portage Rd./Muskoka District Rd. # 9! Just a mere 8 Kms/5 miles/7 minutes NORTH of Baysville (where the Lake of Bays empties) AND only 23 Kms from Bracebridge or 17 Kms/10 miles/20 minutes SOUTH of Huntsville!
 
Baysville, (only 7 minutes away), has: a Public Tennis court, a good modern Library (Internet access), 3 fine "Retail Therapy" Stores, Liquor/Beer Store, Post Office, THE Major Churches, SUNOCO Gas & Propane, 3 Licensed Restaurants and 2 convenience stores.
 
 
 


As for PRIVACY:
NO docks along our side of the lake CAN BE SEEN from the deck at the water's edge at the foot of the dock nor from the private sandy beach in your exclusive and PRIVATE COVE!!! A gradual Patio Stone path leads to a grey deck at the water's edge which gets THE SUN from 10 A.M. or so until sundown!
 
There are easily portable fold up fabric chaise lounges. Only six cottages can be seen on the other shore (to the far left of your "no cottages" sunset view). They are so far away that one cannot tell whether it is a deck chair or a person on their dock.
 
ALSO, the neighbour's cottages CANNOT BE SEEN through the trees 250' and 110' to each side of you and they are built 60', or more, further back from the lake!
 
There is further privacy due to the cottage being at the end of a year round maintained short Township Road and which is "gated". There are only 2 others on our "fork" & 5 on the other "fork" of our friendly road, (2 of which rent for $3,800 & $2,400 weekly)!
 
 
 


SWIMMING:
Menominee Lake's "Aquatic health" was surveyed last year and the Conclusion was that the Lake's "Aquatic Health"it is good! (However, only one person has ever seen let alone had any type of Leech attach themselves.) The private lakeside grey deck leads to the new dock which ends 40 ' from the shore's edge. The water is 5-6' deep at the end of the 6 foot wide Dock and is suitable for most divers.
 
There is an EXCELLENT sloping dock ladder with wide + 6" deep rungs. The ladders sides/rails also extend over three feet above the dock's surface allowing anyone to hoist themselves up!
 
THERE IS ALSO gradual access via your own PRIVATE natural firm Sandy Bottom COVE which also has a small PRIVATE natural Sand Beach!  30 feet out the water is only 3 feet deep for the Little Ones.
 
 
 


SPECTACULAR VIEWS from the:
LIVING ROOM's 8' X 5' Thermo Pane front picture window (starting 18" off the floor), screened veranda, Patio barbecue area, and from the fire pit located just ten feet from the lake, (While Loons call out on the QUIET mile long lake at night, marvel at and enjoy SPECTACULAR SUNSETS, the STARS + SHIMMERING MOONLIGHT coming across the water)...
 
ALSO Relish "SPARKLING DIAMONDS ON THE LAKE" most afternoons!


 
 
 
A nice SCREENED VERANDA,
provides a beautiful panoramic and also sunset view of the lake, which has NO cottages in the main view! An Ideal Refuge for enjoying your morning coffee or evening tea.
 
The veranda is similar to a "Muskoka Room" in that it has Plexiglas and screening which makes it quite rain proof - thus no wet chair cushions. It also has a V-JOINT Pine Ceiling, nice wall to wall carpet and comfortably seats five on double cushioned high back chairs at a large tempered glass top table. Its Large Ceiling Light Fixture can be made to be motion activated by the wall switch.
THE prevailng West Wind blows any "Bugs" away!  The Forest Green Steel Roof and 16" of Insulation in the Attic both contribute to keeping you COOL on HOT HUMID DAYS!
There are 4 motion detectors outside around the cottage which allow one to go out without a flashlight and circle the cottage.
 
 
 


PATIO:
There's a dappled shade "River Stone" (easy on bare feet) Patio area 22' X 12' which has padded chaise lounges, a swing bench, Muskoka chairs, tempered glass table with umbrella, tempered glass end tables, etc. Immediately beside the dappled shade PATIO (which has a VERY nice lake view), is a well equipped NEW 50,000 B.T.U. 400 sq. in. main burner Stainless Steel B.B.Q. + a SPA Hydro MASSAGE Hot Tub (put away by August 28).
 
There are also 4 quality benches (Cast iron sides with oak slats) with side tables on the beach, overlooking the cove and on the deck at the foot of the new 30 foot long by six foot wide floating dock + one by the Fire Pit.
 
 
 
NATURE:
A Great Blue Heron's ETD usually takes to flight about 6:30 A.M. from the PRIVATE COVE here at EWAYA!
 
Break a Leg and get out in one of the two good Canoes then when the lake is calm and looks like glass (there is also often an early morning mist on the lake) and listen to "The call of the Loon!" Loons are often seen and heard just off shore most mornings and evenings - even sometimes during the day.
 
There are over one hundred species of birds (Pileated Wood Peckers, you name it!), Chipmunks, Mink, and three types of Squirrels . Even Moose have been seen at the gates to EWAYA. Deer often wander on one edge of the property.
 
There are many flowers (wild and planted) and a very wide variety of Flora and Fauna: Indian Pipes, Jack In A Pulpit, Lady's Slipper, (Painted, RED, Magenta and White Trillium's), Dutchman's Britches, even VERY rare types of Fungi, Mushrooms and Toad Stools!
 
You are free to go over the Cedar Rail "Snake Fence" past the PATIO to "MEDITATION POINT" (a vacant 800 foot One Acre Point) next door... AWESOME for those into Yoga, Buddhists, etc.!!!
 
 
 
At night watch the shimmering Moon Light on the Lake, view The MILKY WAY in all its splendour without City Lights. (There's an Observatory 20 minutes away = no glare from City Lights to diminish Star Gazing!)
 
 
ALSO, LISTEN... and you might wonder what is WRONG... ???
 
 
and then you will eventually REALIZE that there is NO NOISE !!!
 
NO "City" background NOISES!  NO Vehicular TRAFFIC,
No Sirens !, No Subway Trains/Street Cars, etc.! In winter one can EVEN hear the SNOW fall sometimes!
 
 
 


FISHING:
EXCELLENT Bass and Perch FISHING 30' off of the Dock. (Menominee Lake has NOT been "Fished out" since there is NO general public ACCESS to it, NOR a public boat ramp on it!)


 
 
 
PERFECT FOR ALL AGES!  -   ESPECIALLY For GRAND CHILDREN:
The children's play area is set in dappled shade, which can be seen by watchful Parents from the living room's side 4' x 8' Thermo Pane Picture Window! There is a Tree Fort with a safe ladder having pipe side handrails, a "Cannon Door" / Porthole PLUS a LARGE Skull & Cross bones Flag! There's a brimming FULL Sandbox  - with a cover (to keep out Pine & Hemlock needles) AND there also is an adjustable height SAFE swing! (= No more "Grampa, PLEASE boost me up again!" requests...)
 
 
 


SENIOR FRIENDLY:
for getting around.... Park your vehicle within 30 feet of the door. A LEVEL Path leads to 3 steps (with a STURDY Hand Rail) up to the screened veranda. A 50' GENTLY SLOPING (well lit at night) patio stone path leads to the deck at the dock and part way to the beach. There are "Illuminated" Light Switches for the Entrance, both ends of the Hall and for the Kitchen. So when one exits the Bathroom or any Bedroom at night, there is an Illuminated Light Switch which can easily be found within taking one step.
 
 
 


Close to two MODERN HOSPITALS:
There are Dialysis & Heart Pace Maker clinics and CAT SCAN at the modern Huntsville Hospital. A new "STATE OF THE ART" new "ER" / Emergency wing just opened at the modern Bracebridge Hospital within 20 - 25 minutes. It also has CAT SCAN imaging, etc. MRI is coming.
 
 
 


BATHROOM:
Seniors love the nicely finished four piece SENIOR Friendly Bathroom which is off a hall since it has "elbow room" in the Tub/Shower (curved Shower Rod) and also on both sides of the Toilet. The FULL SIZE Tub & shower has TWO Grab Bars, Shower Hose & an anti slip rubber Tub Mat. There is a HIGH capacity externally venting bathroom fan.
 
 
 


KITCHEN:
Is FULLY... EQUIPPED! It has a New Frigidaire 19 cu. ft. frost free refrigerator, a "CERAN" black flat top self cleaning oven, a NEW 2 cu. ft. Panasonic Microwave above it with very high 300 cu. ft. @ minute externally vented TWIN exhaust fans and a New QUIET "LG" Stainless Steel TALL tub ($1,400) DISH WASHER with Cascade Dish Detergent Powder!
 
The window (in front of the over flow proof Double Stainless Steel "Steel Queen" Sink with a Deluxe Single lever HEAD  having a built in Pull Out "sprayer") has a view of the PRIVATE natural sand beach in the Cove through the Hemlocks a view up the main arm of the lake. There is a Venetian blind and also a window ledge. Quality Dish Towels & Table Napkins are provided.
 
 
 


LAUNDRY:
There is a Heavy Duty Kenmore Clothes Washer and also a Heavy Duty Kenmore Dryer. (For those not wishing to bring their own Linens and Towels, a Laundry Service nearby will provide them.) There's also a  GE" Steam Iron and Ironing Board.
 
 
 


LIVING ROOM:
100 year old matching carved walnut/cane upholstered chairs, Large Persian Rug, Maple Dining Table seats 5 comfortably in comfortable round high back Oak chairs where all can easily enjoy, from the (18" off the floor) main Picture 8' X 5'3", the PANORAMIC VIEW of across the lake, which has NO COTTAGES in it for 135 degrees from the far right...!!!
Also the side 4' x 8' picture window also has full length curtains and allows Parents to keep the Sand Box, Tree Fort and Swing - all set in dappled shade and in view!
 
A Dennon Receiver (2 Yamaha Woofers & 2 speakers + 2 Large Sony Speakers), which all of the following go through: Sony Trinitron Colour T.V., 2 "Star Choice" Satellite Receivers, CD, DVD & Dennon Dual Cassette players, VCR, and Record Turntable.
 
 
 


BEDROOMS:
ALL BEDS are EASILY ACCESSIBLE from BOTH SIDES! All BEDROOMS are of a GOOD SIZE and have: a spacious 4 foot wide CLOSET, Ceiling FAN,  combination CD Player - Alarm Clock Radio, Tri Light Lamp, Reading Lamp over the headboards, wall mounted thermostat for the electric baseboard, Chest of Drawers, Chair, Nite Light and Waste Paper Basket.
 
All bedroom windows are screened, have Low E Argon Gas Thermo Pane windows, have Venetian blinds and also curtains or sheers. All bedroom doors lock from inside but they have "Child Proof" safety locks.
 
The 14' x 11' Master bedroom has a KING SIZE BED - VERY FIRM (Simmons), a lit "compact 5' wide WALK IN CLOSET, its own separate Star Choice Satellite T.V. Receiver & Colour T.V. 
All of the other beds, also have, NEW quality mattresses! KING SIZE - VERY FIRM (Simmons), Queen - FIRM (Marshall mattress) and a Double - QUITE FIRM (Sealy Posturepedic) mattress. All three Mattresses have: sponge pads, Dust Mite proof, non allergenic, spill proof QUALITY Mattress and Pillow Covers. Quality Bed Linens, Pillows, Duvets and blankets are provided. HOWEVER one needs TO BRING their own personal towels! 
 
 
 


INTERNET:
 BELL'S "3G TURBO STICK" sU760 + ROGERS 3G "ROCKET STICK" Wireless Networks function well here! 
No high Speed DSL is available in EWAYA's area. (However there is Fibre Optic Cable 5 miles South of here... maybe before the G8 Summit up here next June in 2010, it will be cheaper to connect to it?)
