Greater Toronto Area Vacation Rentals in South Central Ontario include an area of approximately 7,000 square kilometers along the northern shore of Lake Ontario. Toronto Is the largest metropolitan area in Canada. The surrounding region includes Burlington, Oakville, Kleinburg, Whitby, Oshawa and Ajax and is part of what is known as the Golden Horseshoe.

The city of Toronto has many well known attractions such as the CN Tower, Skydome, a large theatre district and fantastic restaurants and shopping. In the Halton Region to the west of Toronto, is Milton, Halton Hills, Oakville and Burlington. The Kelso Conservation Area is located in this region and the Royal Botanical Gardens. There are over 1000 horse farms, as this area, despite it's major urban populations, is predominantly agriculturally based. The famous Glen Abbey is here for all the Golf fanatics The Niagara Escarpment runs north through the Halton region is a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, recognized for its unique landscape.  There are great opportunities for cycling, hiking, canoeing, birding, swimming and fishing.

Peel Region includes Brampton, Mississaugua  and goes from Lake Ontario to the town of Caledon. Mississaugua is known for the Woodbine Racetrack, the Living Arts Centre, and has golf courses within its city limits. Brampton has many cultural attractions including the Rose Theatre, Heritage Theatre and the  Peel Heritage Complex.  There is also Wild Wtaer Kingdom, Canada's largest water park. Caledon is a small town along the Niagra Escarpment. There is a  Vineyard and Winery, and a few antique markets.
The York Region is just north of Toronto with the cities of Vaughn, Markham and Richmond Hill as major centers. It extends all the way from Lake Ontario up to Lake Simcoe. Canada's Wonderland our largest theme park is near Vaughn. Kleinburg has the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, which has many Group of Seven pieces in it.
Also the Oakridges Moraine run through this region It is one of the most significant landforms in southern Ontario. The moraine gets its name from the rolling hills and river valleys extending 160 km from the Niagara Escarpment east to Rice Lake near Peterborough. It was formed 12,000 years ago by advancing and retreating glaciers There are 13 Conservation Areas and many regional and municipal parks to enjoy the beautiful and natural scenery of the moraine.

To the east is Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering and Ajax in the Durham Region. It consists of urban areas along the Lakeshore, interspersed with a variety small Towns, villages hamlets and farms as you go inland.
There is much First Nations history here – the Iroquiox, Huron and Mississaugua been in the area for over 600 years. The second biggest industry after automotive is agriculture. There are many museums ans historical sites showcasing the history of agriculture in this region.
