Thunder Bay is the gateway to a vast
area of Ontario, larger than all of Southern Ontario combined, called
the North of Superior Travel Region. North of Superior Vacation
Rentals sit along the shore of the world's largest freshwater lake.
There is Kakabeka Falls, considered the
Niagara of the North, the Lake Superior Circle Tour, a 1300-mile
scenic drive and over sixty thousand square miles of territory in
this region. Big fish, big game hunting, and big adventure are all

The North of Superior Travel Region
runs from Saganago Lake in the southwest into the heartland of the
Albany River in the north, and Manitouwadge and Hillsport in the
east. It includes Longlac, Geraldton, Marathon, Red Rock, Thunder
Bay, Grand Portage, and Kakabeka Falls.
North of Superior is full of vast
forests and pristine waterways. Sea kayaking is a popular attraction
- paddle the historic routes of fur trading Voyageurs. Anglers will
love the many extensive areas to fish. Ouimet Canyon Provincial Park
is a dramatic geological fault, that is approximately 152 metres (500
feet) deep and wide. Because it is so deep it supports the only
growth of sub-Arctic plants south of the Arctic Circle.
Winter activities include dog sledding
and snowshoeing.
